How do I create a frame in WINK?

Answer:

Before creating a frame in WINK, we recommend that you search for it in the database to avoid duplicate entries.

You can create a frame by doing the following:

  1. Click "Suppliers"
  2. Click "Frames"
  3. Click "New"
  4. Choose the Brand; if it doesn’t already exist, you must create it:
    1. Double-click on “Add New”
    2. Enter the Brand Name
    3. “Ok”
    4. Select the manufacturer; if it doesn't already exist, you must create it as a Supplier in your database.  Fill in all necessary information and don't forget to assign the Supplier account to the appropriate locations (see video).
  5. Enter the following information exactly as it appears on the frame:
    1. Model
    2. Color Name or Color Code
    3. A/Bridge/Temple
    4. Lens Color Name or Color Code (Sunglasses)
    5. Check ‘Sample Frame’ box if this frame is only used as a sample and must be ordered at the time of the sale. WINK will automatically select “To Order” when you select the frame or scan the barcode.
    6. Select the Manufacturer from the drop-down menu, if it's not automatically selected
  6. Click the “Cost Price” tab
    1. Select the Supplier & account number from the drop-down menus
    2. Enter your negotiated cost
    3. Select your tax code; if applicable
    4. Click the green checkmark
  7. Click the “Retail Price” tab
    1. Enter what you would like to appear on the Invoice (Display to Customer As)
    2. Enter your retail price in “Default Price”
    3. Select your tax code; if applicable
    4. Click the green checkmark
  8. Click the “Tracing” tab (this tab is optional, but filling it out now means you won’t have to fill it out on the Rx worksheet at the time of the sale)
    1. Select the “Type” of frame from the drop-down menu
    2. Select the “Gender” from the drop-down menu, if desired
    3. Enter the ‘A, B, DBL & ED’
  9. Click “Save”
