With respect to label printers and bar code scanners, are we locked into using only the equipment in the catalogue, or can we get other hardware?
Answer:
The POS products in the catalogue are the only products compatible with WINK software. We actually had to write our own software-drivers for the label printer and bar code scanner. Also please note, we do not integrate with all Honeywell scanners or Datamax printers. Only the ones referenced in the catalogue.
WINK is free software, so it would not be financially feasible to integrate with all POS devices in the world. The devices in question are not the cheapest on the market, but they are among the best and that’s why we integrated with them. We chose not to integrate with less robust equipment, because at the end of the day customers call “us” when there’s a problem. By way of example, Ebay retailers rarely offer support for their devices.
The prices WINK charges for the equipment is exactly the same as what our sponsors charge for the same equipment. We have negotiated a 20-30% discount for ourselves, and that is our profit. Our business model is transparent and honest, and we believe that that should be the basis for building strong long lasting relationships with our customers.
