Connecting to your database with WINKemr
Once you have confirmation that your database was synced with the EMR by our development team, you can connect to it (either on the iPad app or the Web app) by entering the same credentials that you would normally use to install WINKpms on a computer (database email and security answer).
If you do not know what these credentials are, please ask your database administrator.
To access the first screen, long click/press the
CONFIGURE USER PROFILES
1. Permissions/Access: Make sure users who have access to EMR (Doctors and Pretest) are set up properly. They should have at least the following in their user profile:
- System: Has System Access
- Company Level Access: Doctor Access: Full Access
- Store Level Access: Non-Critical Data
Ideally for assistants, create ONE user called "PRETEST"
2. Digital Signature: upload all doctors’ digital signatures, they will need it to sign Rxs on their iPad. Click here to read the KBA.
3. External Users: create users to who the ECP would send referrals to (OMD, MD, OD, etc.). First and Last names are optional here, in case ECPs don't need to refer to a specific professional from another medical institution (Px can see any professional available from an institution). Make sure you have either the name of the professional or the name of an institution, as well as email and/or fax number.
PATIENT COMMUNICATION: REFERRALS
4. Patient Communication>> Settings: Referral Template: add an email template, if there isn’t one already. This template will be used for sending referral letters by EMAIL.
NB: If you are using SmartFax as a fax provider, the subject for this template MUST be the password for the fax account.
5. Patient Communication>> Referrals>> Referral Letters: create at least one Referral Letter template to make the Referral button visible in WINKemr. No template, no Referral Button!
COMPANY: REFERRAL STATUS
(For managing the referrals)
6. Company>> Referral Status: create statuses that will be helpful to the doctor and their staff to manage referrals efficiently. WINK preloads automatically 4 statuses: Draft, Sent, Printed, and Opened. “Map With” is optional.
Other status examples: Patient Report for GP, Waiting for Px Conf./ Px contacted, Waiting for OMD Conf., Px Never Answered, etc.
STORE SETTINGS: FAX AND OUTGOING EMAIL
7. Link the fax account: Company>> Stores>> Practices/Stores>> Outgoing Email>>Email to fax:
This is all the setup that needs to be done in WINK for linking with their myfax/efax account. After that, you will need to log in to your fax account as admin and "whitelist" or "authorize" the outgoing email address that WINK will be using to send faxes.
